  • Analytical Writing

The Analytical Writing Assessment section consists of two essays. Test takers are given about 30 minutes per essay and is scored on a scale of 0 to 6. Usually, the essay is graded by two readers (IntelliMetric software and a human reader). If readers' score are within one point of each other, they are averaged. Otherwise, the essays are read and graded by third reader, who is also a human.

  • Quantitative

The Quantitative section of the test consists of 37 questions. Basically all questions either belong to Problem Solving or Data Sufficiency type of questions. Unlike SAT GMAT doesn't have wrong-answer penalties, therefore answering wrong is worse than leaving question unanswered. Almost all factors (difficulty of questions, number of correct answers, number of answered questions and etc.) are taken into account while calculating the score for this section, which ranges from 0 to 60.

  • Verbal

The Verbal section is designed to assess test taker's knowledge of English, to test logical thinking and ability to comprehend and critique readings of different complexity. Therefore the section is comprised of three corresponding types of questions: sentence correction, critical reasoning and reading comprehension. Usually, there are 41 questions and test takers are alloted with only 75 minutes. The section is scored from 0 to 51 points.
